1. People are curious about the direction of the new administration, not pessimistic about the economy
2. Article is factually incorrect. It states "stock market swings" have caused pessimism. There has not been a single day of even 3% movement in VTI (total market) or S&P 500.
3. Markets are up >2% in the last 1 month alone

Its obviously an exaggeration. The average cost of a dozen Grade A large eggs was $4.15 in December as per Fed data.

Egg prices have been going up for a while over the last 4 years. And went up ~40% last year

I think there are genuine worries about jobs, economy and inflation. These worries have been there since the 2021/22 when inflation started going up. Then Fed rose rates and there were some job losses. The job losses were more pronounced in tech, not manufacturing or construction. So got a lot of attention of social media.
